This is Portia

I have worked intensively with teams and leaders in community level non-profit organizations, local governments and international development institutions. In today's environment, my work is with the increasing number of organizations that need help adopting new models that will enable them to be successful in our very uncertain environment. There are four main approaches that I use.

First, using a six-step process designed to move beyond the boundaries of traditional models, I draw out a team’s deepest knowing from spiritual intelligence that is often overlooked. At the end of this process, teams and leaders will have a clear understanding of how to mobilize and address the persistent and unparalleled challenges that have become the new norm. In turn, organizations will learn to navigate situations that have hindered their progress.

Second, working together we will plan your path forward while navigating a shifting landscape filled with unparalleled, rapidly evolving challenges. You will adopt a more generative model of planning across your organization that shapes a more prepared, engaged and effective workforce.

Third, I will work closely with your organization as you move through the stages of integrating new work processes to help you meet your performance metrics, providing feedback for evaluation.

Finally, I perform research to examine the matters which are central to any vexing problems.  Primarily using narrative analysis and Q methodology (a scientific method for studying subjective aspects of reaching your goals), that information reveals the underlying themes of what drives or impedes the success of your organization.

An example of that research has been included in a leadership handbook. Dhiman, S. & Marques, J. (2020). New Horizons in Positive Leadership and Change: A Practical Guide for Workplace Transformation. The Discerning Capacity of Generative Leaders: Achieving Success Flowing with Synchronicity Moments.  Springer: Cham, Switzerland. Pp.349-368.

“The world we have created is a product of our thinking; it cannot be changed without changing our thinking. If we want to change the world we have to change our thinking...no problem can be solved from the same consciousness that created it. We must learn to see the world anew.”
